Before I Die

What matters most to you

Before I die I want to_______.
Project Reveal brought this global movement to Evansville.

This participatory public art project invites people to share their personal aspirations in public with the hope that by revealing the community’s longings, anxieties, joys and struggles, this wall will help explore how public space can cultivate self-examination and empathy among neighbors.

This concept gained popularity after it was featured in Candy Chang’s TED Talk. Chang created the chalk wall inviting people to fill in what they want to do before they die on an abandoned house in her New Orleans neighborhood.
The wall quickly filled up with intriguing responses and gained global attention. Thanks to passionate people around the world, over 1,000 Before I Die walls have now been created in over 70 countries, including Iraq, China, Brazil, Kazakhstan and South Africa.

The wall will be featured it in an upcoming episode about transforming your life. The weekly television show airs on WNIN/PBS.
